Ren Motowerks Origin
Our first modified Grom ran a Koso 170 4-valve. Our goal was to get the bike reliable to highway speeds. We tuned the bike with a popular Dynojet Power Commander V but were very unhappy with the results. After heaps of frustration with the vendor, we thought we could do it better.
After months of searching for the perfect solution, we stumbled across ARacer, a standalone ECM that would suit our needs. Shortly after this discovery, Ren Motowerks was born. Our mission was to spread awareness to the Grom community on how to tune this bike and what components are needed to keep it reliable.
With our Dynojet SD12 dynamometer, we were able to tune the bike to a safe 25whp and achieved a 90MPH top speed. At the time, this was unheard of and skeptics rolled in. Additional parts were developed such as metal cam chain tensioners. larger intakes, and a matching exhaust. These modifications became essential for subsequent builds as they’ve proven to output maximum performance.
Big Bug Eyes
The unique look of this bike came from Triumph’s Street Triple R. These headlights fit perfectly on the Grom’s frame. With the aggressive styling and dark silhouette, it’s impossible to not stare when this monster flies by.
