Wire Tuck Guide

Wire tucking is highly beneficial for people who have done headlight conversions.

This is a free mod. The time to complete will vary depending on your skill set and detail.

Tools You’ll Need:

  • Razor blade or equivalent (cutters, scissors)
  • Electrical Tape
  • Time and Patience

Let’s get started!

You’ll have to remove your fairings, gas tank cover, and headlight.

Step 1) Locate the main harness on the frame and start taking the tape apart.

Step 2) When taking the tape apart, you’ll expose all the wiring and see where they are routed. You will be able to separate the horn, ignition switch, headlight etc. Spend this time to map where you want your wires to go. Some may go in the front, some may stay in the back. You should also think about relocating your horn as well. You can also relocate your ignition switch but you’ll lose the lock if you do. If you have a HID or LED headlight, you can hide the ballast in the body as well (create an headlight extension wire using a harness. These are available at local auto parts stores). Make sure you have enough slack in the wiring when turning LEFT/RIGHT.

Step 3) Clean up time. Use the electrical tape to loom your wiring harness back together. Below are some photos of how clean the front looks and how some of the wires are routed on the left and right side of the frame. With the fairngs on, you cannot see them.

Organizing and rearranging where the wires are routed will take the longest amount of time but you’ll have a clean looking front end!
